About Our Kava

Taste The Quality

Kava Kava is a relaxing beverage that has been enjoyed in the South Pacific Islands for over 3,000 years. Kava promotes positive mood and tames the day to day stresses of life while also promoting physical relaxation.

Sourcing

We source our kava kava from several suppliers in remote island nations in the south pacific including Vanuatu, Fiji, Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon islands. All of our suppliers are registered with the FDA, HACCP Certified, and follow current Good Manufacturing Practices. They have been hand selected for consistently providing us with exemplary quality, clean, potent, Beverage Grade kava. Our Kava is sustainably grown without the use of chemicals, however due to the remoteness of our harvesting locations, it is not possible for official USDA organic certification. Rest assured that our product is as pure as you can get.

Science

Every product in our lineup is rigorously tested by third party independent labs and must meet extremely strict quality controls before the Root of Happiness® brand name is bestowed upon the product. From our raw Kava powder, to our tinctures and concentrates, we test all materials for microbiological, heavy metals, pesticides, as well as Kavalactone and Flavokavain quantification. Our proprietary processing methods are second to none, resulting in consistent, high quality products that demonstrate the very best characteristics and uphold the 3,000 year legacy of noble variety kavas.

Sustainability

All of our cultivars are sustainably grown and harvested rather than wildcrafted. By not using chemical fertilizers or pesticides, our farms can continue to plant and harvest kava year after year without depleting their farms or the local environment. Furthermore, by paying up to double the fair market price for our Kava, we ensure that the region remains economically sustainable as well, which in turn affords farmers the opportunity to realize full crop yields, rather than having to prematurely harvest their kava at 2-3 year intervals.

What can I expect it to do?

Kava kava is neither intoxicating like alcohol nor stimulating like coffee. It has a 3,000 year history of use as a safe and effective way to promote a state of mental wellbeing that is accompanied by marked physical relaxation. Expect to feel relaxed, at peace, and ready to socialize.
